I recently read this Article about a Stirling Engine being used as a Fan to cool your computer. The device comes from MSI and means that no electricity is used for cooling the computer, maybe this will make laptop battery's last longer, could the Stirling Engine have a future in computers?
The tiny engine is directly connected to the heat generating parts of the computer, this heats the hot cylinder creating the heat difference required for the engine to work. This means that the hotter the computer gets the faster the little Stirling engine will blow air through the heat sink.
