The idea of this site is to discuss some of the greatest machines ever invented and the amazing men who invented them. With fuel prices getting ever higher could an old idea be the answer for a new technology. Is it possible that a good idea has been forgotten because of material and manufacturing limitation of the time in which it was designed.
The stirling engine is an example of a technology held back by the time in which it was designed. It is a heat engine which in an ideal case could produce the same thermal efficiency as the Carnot cycle engine.
The forum on this site is the main area where I hope to gain from others experience and find out about machines that otherwise would be forgotten.
